  4. First I just want to say that you have the most sexiest voice. EVER! I love your blog, I think you are a great writer. I really enjoy reading your blog, you are so creative. Please write more !

    P.s I think I'm in love with you! :)

  5. You're not a reality star...you're a missed writer..see?you could have a job after all ;) Kisses from Italy!

  6. yess!! i love your voice too, very sexi hehe :) :)

  7. I'm not sure if what u were tryin to do was just read it out loud or act out the way "those people" feel... If u were doing this for acting exercise then I suggest reading it from a "dear Stan" (eminem's song)... It's probably hard for u to get into a character like this cuz u don't really feel that way about yourself but if u can put yourself in their shoes and really get those emotionals out... Then that will def have all those haters (that u were representing) sit the fuck down :-)... Some creative criticism besides "ur voice is sexy comments"... Which maybe true haha good luck!

  11. I have always watched the show and I really liked this blog you wrote. I was really impressed. I will probably never meet you in real life, but I thought what you wrote was very cool and I find the rest of your posts interesting. I have it bookmarked it. (:

  12. I like how you made the video cause sometimes reading something I get ADD and listening and seeing it helped. Keep up the good work~

  13. Makes the critics seem pretty stupid huh?

  14. You know i never thought about reality people moving on from reality to persue other roles but then I realized their are others out there who have. Such as Jennifer Hudson who started out on American Idol, Jamie Chung who started out on the Real World, and even Mike Mizanin also on Real. World ya most don't move on but only because they aren't smart enough to move forward they are stuck on their drunken attention fame which will only last another 5 minutes if that.

  16. I absolutely LOVED this. I just commented on your first post, but I just want to say that this is a very good piece of writing!

  17. I honestly agree with every word you said. People treat reality stars as something less then human, then go and treat other celebrities who are like A list actors as demi Gods.
Bottom line is we're all human and what we do at one point in time shouldn't define us for the rest of our life.

  18. Vinny got this move from the movie 8 mile totally dissed himself so he can beat Pappa Doc

    ReplyDelete
  19. He can try to redeem himself by talking until he gets blue in the face, but he will not be redeemed until it's shown in action.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I actually had to comment. I thought this was just beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It's really cool that you spoke the piece you wrote. You gave your words a voice. I love this passive monologue Vinny. Great job.

    ReplyDelete
  22. This is amazing. I think you are more than just a reality star.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Loved your reading.

"Write while the heat is in you. The writer who postpones the recording of his thought uses an iron which has cooled to burn a hole with. He cannot inflame the minds of his audience." - Henry Thoreau

(Can be interpreted as slightly cheesy, but it's true nonetheless.) :)

  24. Wow I'm speech. Your something else vin ( in a good way)

  25. Reality Stars can and do move on.. just look at Sean Duffy. Senator in WI. he was real world boston.. you can do reality TV as long as you dont let it go to your head and as long as you keep your feet firmly planted which I believe you will do/are doing. :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. This was hilarious, smart and a slap in the face to everyone out there who judges reality stars. Fucking awesome, thanks for making me laugh, I needed that after the day I had!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Great writing Vinny, all your stories are amazing, keep up the work!

  28. Love the intensity of this essay. Hated because average Joe gone Johnny depp over night. But I don't view you as either celebrity or reality star MTV sets out the pavement for what's in or out for hipsters to follow shows like the real world and sweet sixteen lacked substance. Its not your fault that JS caught like wild fire. As a matter of fact its popularity simply increased because its in. Its all the rage. Your still a person with aspirations and goals, intellegence all wrapped in a handsome package :]]

    ReplyDelete
  29. You have a very big heart and it is so refreshing to watch you I was not onto the JS until this season I have seen a few episodes but I have watched all of italy so far. I cannot say it enough what a wonderful person you are and please thank your Mother for me she has raised a good man!

    ReplyDelete
  30. i love Jersey Shore and you are my favourite !
    thanks for be you.
    kiss :)

  31. Very well said, people are very simple minded. I'm sure you will go on to have a wonderful future. I watch the show every week. It's a show, it is supposed to be entertaining. Although you are on a reality show it is very apparent that you have good morals and respect. The concept of family means very much to you. Everyone makes mistakes, that is how we learn, it does not define who we are. I think it takes courage to have a camera follow you around and capture your every move. So, keep your head up! You know you are a good person and so does anyone that matters!

    ReplyDelete
  32. You're one intelligent individual.

  33. Vinnie don't listen to the illuminati=they lie-your contract written in blood to satan is worthless-meaningless-it has no validity. You are a child of God, Satan can only destroy-he can not and will not improve your life in any beneficial way. There is no magic in satanism-they use technology alone-magic is the realm of God only-love transforms everything to a better state-satan only destroys life. Satanic ritual is all about harming or killing something helpless and innocent-it began when abraham sexually abused his child-the circumcision-war is a satanic ritual. Snookie is smarter than you-she knows that her popularity comes from allowing herself to be humiliated publicly-to be real human and vulnerable, to embarrass herself has made her loved-people identify with that-you fear it-so you are a phony-she is really real-being herself-you are a afraid to be real non-reality star. Do some good in the world-make it a better place for others-don't be selfish-be like your mom-and have your mom pray for your soul-a mother's prayers are answered.

I wonder if you take as much time to make this as you do to read all of your adoring fans comments. I believe you should always love yourself for the person you truly are and not what people would like to see. I dont believe that you put on a show for anyone and one day people will recognize you for the beauty you have within. Maybe one day you will find the woman that sees behind the cameras. Until then enjoy your life but just dont let oppurtunities pass you by: )

  36. anybody who's ever seen vinny on the jshore, regardless of the content of the show, can tell this is not true at all..

  37. I had a really odd dream last night.
    You were in it.
And then for some reason your blog popped while I was googling double decker busses. I have a van, but I want a double decker bus.. (it's the only way I can justify selling my awesome van)

Needless to say, that life gets empty quick. And all you look forward to are home visits or quiet lunches with old friends.

I didn't read all your shit. I skimmed.

    Don't lose the fun.

sidenote: double decker busses are super affordable! I want one so, for every occasion, I can say "look at my bus!" and "Happy Hanukkah everyone, all aboard!"

I'm not Jewish. But, with a double decker bus, you can be anything.

"but lois.. the mystery box could be anything.. it could even be a boat!"

    -not a gay man

    get it get it.

  40. It's hard to fight up-stream once you're in the river, but you do what you have to do. I think you've expressed yourself well enough for people to see who you are past all the show themes. Sure, you've been documented partying and drinking. However that's life in the early 20's, and that's why the show is so popular. You guys capture the moments that people remember, or wish they could have experienced. You'll find that in time, all these worries will blow over, and you can select what path you wish to walk.

For now, you may not like the "reality star", but you've used your name to support a number of noble efforts. Be this your 15 minutes, or a long life of social focus, you're making a difference in your time. That's something that few people know how to do nowadays. You've got a good heart man. I'm certain that regardless of where you go, you'll find good for yourself.

It may not mean much, but if you're ever in Vegas, I work for a comedy show out here. I'd like to hook you up with some free tickets to one of our shows, just as a thank you for your work with It Gets Better and GLAAD. You just have to buy me a drink after, Haha.

  41. Was pleasantly surprised by Vinny's Words. Gave me a different idea of Vinny. Still can't bring myself to watch the show.( I really feel it makes my home state look bad) I like that he does not take is reality stardom to seriously. Makes me wonder if the whole show is just an act. Very surprised.

    ReplyDelete
  42. This most definitely changed my perspective on the whole aspect of being on a reality show. The way people constantly criticize you for everything that you are is plain pathetic. They shout words as if you don't have one bit of feelings, and I understand that people say cruel things about your show. I think if others were to see this blog, they would be very surprised that you aren't what you seem to be on tv. I respect you.

  45. Vinny first of all i loved the end of this cause thats so true about haters(they still watch your show cause your awesome) i took this video as pitty me and I know it must be hard to hear all this negative stuff about yourself but i wish instead of creating this "wo is me" video, you would just ignore it and be the educated person you are and do something great. SHow everyone that you have compassion but participating in a community service. show that you have passion by producing something you love to do.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I really enjoyed this. The lifestyle is so addictive, who in their rightmind would ever turn it down? Whether real or false, the benefits to doing a reality show cant be looked past. The outside world who judges against you and your castmates, in truth, are only jealous they are not in your position. But you are the one out of all that seems to have truly experienced both the heaven & the hell the world of reality tv offers. What's awesome about you is that seeing both sides, you have remained on the show yet devoted your freetime to helping others vs. Filling your bank account. I find that so insanely encouraging, that you have stayed so true to self considering how hard going back to 'normal' life has gotta be. Let the haters hate! You're doing, and will do great things thru your advocacy for anti-bullying. That makes you more human than human...no pun intended *grins*

  49. Dear Vinny, I've watched the show from the very beginning and shortly after I became aware that you were different from the rest of the house, that you were more in touch with reality; in THAT sense you are a reality star. You are right, the fact that a person is in a reality show does not automatically make them fit the type you so eloquently describe in this video, but most do, so I find your interest in singling yourself out, relevant. You did not need to, however, it is very obvious, at least to me, that you are not the typical "reality star", disconnected from reality, ironically; no, you are very much in touch with it as any person with artistic inclinations is-I hope you find a place in the artistic world that allows you to express yourself as you so well know how to do and that at the same time benefits the public by providing them with an intelligent role model-for once. Thank you.
    Sincerely, a fan.

  50. When i first watched the first season of Jersey Shore, i was like 'WTF is that Vinny doing there?'. Everyone could tell you were different from all the other assholes in the house. You were nerdy, but sweet, nice, polite, VERY smart (even the way you talked.. you used 'smart' words lol and the way you dressed, different but just so cute), handsome but not cocky at all. You were definitely my favorite exactly because of those reasons.
But somehow, you changed...a lot. Now you're just like them. Just cares about 'banging' women and partying and drinking. COME ON Vinny! Don't let them influence you. Just BE YOURSELF, which I'm sure it's not that guy you're acting like right now. You have sooo much potential. I believe in you.

    Sincerely, G.

  56. It's nice to have confirmation of what I've always thought. There's more to Vinny than meets the eye. Can always tell when watching the show that Vinny (and Pauly) are the only ones you could take seriously beyond what you see.

  57. If anyone's got a head on his shoulders on the show it's you, and we didn't need to see your blog to know that. Trolls always gonna troll man. They jelly. Don't worry about it.

    My thoughts…
When many people approves about something, it just expands; because all people wants to see what many people think is ‘the bomb’. The thing in itself is the same thing. But with its approval from many people, the image of the thing just changes, only in people’s heads, the thing is still the same. But what happens when the thing is a human being. A human being has thoughts; a thing doesn’t have that ability. So the expanding of people’s approval is absorbed in the human beings mind aka thoughts, then, is the human being changing otherwise the thing? I think..
But what if the human being is note on this change; would it be capable of not changing? I think..
We say; things change, people change. In the way of changing as a necessity of life, as a necessity of the human being's self formation, it is okay to change. But don’t change because people approve of you; remember that you are still you. You have to remember, that when people forget about you, and you don’t feel this enormous self approval by other people, you will have to still manage yourself, and you can’t manage yourself based on the approval by others, you have to manage yourself by your own approval of yourself. I think..
That’s why it takes a knowledge soul to cope being a reality star

    Vinny Guadagnino: “predominant benefit”
Reality: “the quality or state of being actual or true”
Star: “an actor who plays a principal role”

(i'm from denmark, so excuse any spelling mistakes/grammatical errors) (:

    ReplyDelete
  59. it's hard to understand what you mean, because it fells like you try sell your self... your some kind star. in whole world people watching "jersey" and lots of girls love you for being Vinny from tv. and what?your pretend? "i don't use girl for 1 night, because i'm smart ant intelligent, and i'm looking only my future wife, but i don't find her( all of the girls come to my bed after party and i don'm want it)" be seriously, it's look like you try to grab the hearts girls who's watching this monologue.

so come on to Europe, and try show your self to Polish girl's, it will be not so easily...

  60. just like the song say's: "sad but true"

  62. I liked the 3rd person point of veiw it was really moving. I think that their are a lot of judgements when it comes to the entertainment world, especially a Reality TV star. People pass judgements and talk shit because they are bored with their own lives. Reality TV and especially shows like Jersy Shore are made to show the most than being famous for being on a Reality TV show.dramatic parts because thats what the viewers like. Most think thats how those people really are, when truth is their is so much more to them

    ReplyDelete
  63. I think that you make your life how you want it to be, whether it be on TV or not. Some people are more fortunate than others to actually be starred on reality shows, but that doesn't mean you are a crazy guy who just drinks and has sex. Let's admit, all those haters probably do the same exact thing, but just can't stand seeing someone else do it. I loved your point of view that you portrayed in this because you do understand how other people think and I think that is very considerate. I don't even know if you read all these comments, but you already know not to listen to other people because they don't know you, what you are like, your interests, anything. At the same time neither do I and I am not quick to judge. Very great video <3 P.S. I love the tone of your voice when you speak. Woah that sounded creepy. Sorry about that! ;p

  65. Meh... It was alright but you know you think more of yourself than what you wrote. Seriously you're so handsome and smart why sell yourself short and do reality TV when you could be doing something more productive with your life. I listen to you on O&A and I know you're not the guy you are sometimes portrayed as on Jersey Shore. Love ya sexy!! ; )

  66. i checked your blog out and all that comes to mind when i watch it is that your real.
i find myself relateing alot to you, im a chef worked in some top restaurants, but i find no one takes me seriously because of the way i look and my age, boss tells me im good to flirt with not to work with lol im too young to be taken seriously but what they dont know is outside of work i write music, paint and take care of the family. just because of the way i may appear to them they believe theres nothing else to me but a good time. so when people see you on jersey they only get one image or oneside of you...so dont worry people get you.
im definately looken forward to more from you.

  67. Just watched this for the first time and I dont think people in general realize or even take the time to think that a reality show does not display accurately who a person is. The producers form the charactor...show the footage to back that persona...and go with that particular flow. I am glad to see that you are telling who YOU are...glad to see that you are addressing the stereotypes that some encounter. That takes a strong individual and obviously you fit that profile.
P.S. Love how you are family oriented. I am a single mother and I can only hope that my children enjoy their lives to the fullest and get everything they could ever desire but at the same time remember where they came from. Good luck with everything you do. Your family...especially your mother...did a wonderful job shaping the base that has become the foundation to your life.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Wow, This is so legitimate and powerful, especially from someone who has just recently been in the reality scene and not only grows from the experience, but calls it and everybody else out about. Just goes how to show how far stereotypes really go. It goes deeper to show how the people that watch the show and form stereotypes on their own without their recognition. Sadly a Catch-22. Go Vinny-- I don't watch Jersey Shore much, but my friend told me I would love this. Props!
